You can discover your favourite band when you’re in your late twenties. You can meet your best friend when you’re in your thirties. You can finally accomplish a life goal when you’re in your fifties. Your youth isn’t the only time frame where amazing, life-changing things can happen.
As the writers of Sherlock so kindly told us in series three about coincidences, “The universe is rarely so lazy.”
It is nota coincidence that John licks his lips while hitting on an attractive woman, and then again when he is “totally not” hitting on Sherlock.
It is nota coincidence that John looks at another attractive woman the same way he looks at Sherlock (platonic my ass).
It is nota coincidence that the scene where Irene tries to seduce Sherlock is shot with the same angle and movements as the scene where John “doesn’t mind.”
It is nota coincidence that Molly and John both say the same line after altering their physical appearance for Sherlock (you’re not fooling anyone, John.)
It is nota coincidence that Sherlock said “Oscillation on the pavement always means there’s a love affair.” in TSOT, when just the episode before we saw John mimicking the girl’s actions in the same lighting, color scheme, and location.
Just remember, “The universe is rarely so lazy.“
and apparently neither are the writers of Sherlock
plot twist: the introverted character who doesn’t like big social gatherings or speaking in front of people is still an introvert by the end of the story because introversion is not a character flaw and it doesn’t need to be overcome
Look, I’ll go on your stupid adventure, but you better leave me the fuck alone when we get back.
