I’m Ben, and this is a picture of my family; my father Alex, my stepmom Francesca, and our two dogs Willow and Spice. We got some bad news towards the end of the summer this year. After experiencing a cough and shortness of breath on one of his many hikes in the Adirondacks, he made plans to see his doctor, who put him on allergy medications. But it didn’t take long to realize that something else was causing the problem. The shortness of breath, the coughing and eventual wheezing led to body scans and a biopsy. My dad is only 50 and quit smoking over 18 years ago. Sometimes things happen that just don’t make sense. On August 31st Alex, my dad, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Adenocarcinoma.
Hey guys my high school art teacher recently found out he has stage 4 lung cancer. I had very few places to go after school to prevent being alone, by myself and wallowing in my depression at the time… I would go to mr flansburg’s art room whenever i could. at a time when I was living out of my own head the fact that there were a few teachers like him to be kind and encouraging to me means the whole world and he and his family have so much love for each other… pls give if u can. The district has cut his hours so much. Thank u for reading!
