Also in canon, when Holmes and Watson meet, there isn’t even the tiniest whiff of dfp. Holmes is a bubbly nerd right off the bat. Outgoing and friendly and charming and sweet, like immediately. And Watson is totally charmed and develops a pretty intense desire to find out what he’s all about and what makes him tick. As Rebs said, it was not about the work 😏

The first case they do together, Holmes straight up tells Watson that he only took it on to entertain Watson, and he was surprised it turned out to be so much fun.
